- Assessment of cardiovascular risk factors
- Obtaining a fasting lipid profile including total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and triglycerides
Management/Treatment/Prevention
- Lifestyle modification including smoking cessation, exercise, weight loss, substance use treatment if indicated
- Pharmacologic treatment (e.g., statins)
- Regular lipid profile monitoring in patients receiving antiretroviral therapy
